Over the course of 5 days our scouts got to explore the bayou of Louisiana getting the chance to see the swamp first hand. In those 5 days they canoed 61.6 miles and saw 37 alligators. The scouts slept on an island with hammocks surrounded by the lush trees and a vast ecosystem full of insects and other reptiles. On their day break, each scout had the ability to hold and pet a baby alligator, as well as a little snake. To end the trip, they had to wake up early at 2:30am to catch the beautiful sunrise on the lake.
