On June 12 we met at the church at 5:00 to leave on a long drive to Antietam. There was a really beautiful sunset and the camp grounds were pretty. In the morning we left after eating our breakfast to go on our hike. On our hike we learned a lot to know about the Antietam battle and it was the bloodiest day in USA history to this day. There were a bunch of gnats and it was horrid to have them come into our mouths and ears. After the hike we had a “who can roll down the hill the fastest” competition in our sleeping bags. We slept outside, with no tents.
